Trash:  $4.00 per 30 lb bag, (Effective 8-1-2010).  Excess weight is subject to a $0.10 per lb over 30 lb charge.

• Recyclable: $1.00 per 30 gallon container of recyclables, providing the customer has a minimum of 1 bag of trash.  In the case of the customer having no trash, they will be charged $2.00 per 30 gallon container of recyclables for their first container. For additional containers the cost will be $1.00 per 30 gallon container. These costs are for all participants that do not reside, own or rent in the Town of Bridgewater.

Recyclable Items Accepted in Single Stream Recycling:

Glass Containers, All Tin & Aluminum Containers, Aluminum Foil, #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6 & #7 Hard Plastics only:  **No Plastic bags, no Styrofoam products or soft plastic.**  These products must be clean, have NO CAPS.

Newspapers, Magazines, & All Paper products not containing metal or plastics:  These products have to be in paper bags or cardboard boxes, NO PLASTIC BAGS.

Phone Books:  Anytime

Cardboard:  All types must be broken down.

NO CONTAINERS CONTAINING OIL, BRAKE FLUID, OR PETROLUM PRODUCTS ALLOWED. NO LIGHT BULBS. HARDCOVERED BOOKS ARE NOT RECYCLABLE AT THIS TIME. PLASTIC BAGS GO BACK TO STORE.

Scrap Metal:  50 lbs per customer per week of light iron and flat metal, in links less than 8 feet long & up to 5 inches thick, excessive weight and/or volume maybe subject to charge.  

Miscellaneous Items accepted for a fee:

“Big Trash”:  Items to large to be taken with regular trash collection – furniture, chairs, sofas, mattresses, microwaves, TVs, Big toys, etc. – 100 pound limits applies.

COST: $10 & up depending on size/weight.

Appliances without Freon:  Start at $5 (includes dishwashers, washers, dryers, stoves, gas grills without tanks, etc.)

Appliances with Freon:  Start at $20 each (includes refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc.)

Batteries:  car $3 each, regular alkaline batteries (AAA-D) go in household trash if made after 1996.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: Demolition materials, tires, fuel tanks, full paint cans, ammunition, and medical waste or hazardous materials.

There may be items we take that have not been covered by this list.  They may be able to be dropped off, or an appointment made to be picked up, for a fee.
